ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICES
Faith in Action provides free services to older adults and individuals with disabilities who reside in Belmont, Marshall and Ohio Counties. There are no income eligibility requirements. Volunteers give their time and talents to enhance the quality of life for our neighbors.
Faith in Action provides services based upon availability of a volunteer caregiver. Services provided include:
- Escorted transportation to medical appointments in the local area
- Telephone reassurance calls
- Friendly Visiting
SERVICES NOT PROVIDED
Unfortunately, due to the need for extra qualifications from our volunteers, we are unable to provide the following services:
- Dispensing medication
- Other personal care
- Long-term, daily or overnight respite
- Transportation cannot be provided if care receiver is not able to transfer from a wheelchair to a car
Because of the generosity of individual donations, business partners, congregations and community support, Faith in Action is able to offer services without charge to the receiver regardless of income level.
HOW TO GET HELP
Do you need help with transportation to medical appointments? Are you having difficulty with grocery shopping because you can’t carry the packages?
Sometimes tasks like these make the difference between someone being able to stay in their own home or needing to enter a facility where additional help is available.
If you are one of those who wants to remain independent and be able to maintain your dignity and quality of life, contact Faith in Action to learn more about receiving services from caring and compassionate volunteers.
You will need to complete a brief application to tell us more about yourself and how a volunteer will be able to make a difference in your life. Once the application is received in our office, simply contact Faith in Action to schedule appointments for services. Unfortunately, there is NO guarantee a volunteer will be available at the time for your request. We will contact you with a volunteer’s name and/or to let you know we were unable to get a volunteer.
To get an application or additional information on our services, please contact Executive Director, Yvonne Verno at firstname.lastname@example.org, call tel:304-243-5420 or you can click on the Care Receiver application tab for an application.
